Record In Nashville!
If You Have Always Wanted To Be A Recording Artist Now Is The Time To Start!
There is only one . . .
Guaranteed Way To Begin A Recording Career!
If you want to be a recording artist and you've wondered how to begin - you can record in Nashville, have your recording distributed to radio and give you an opportunity to build a career in music. It is easier than you may believe to record - you just need to know what to do!
A music career is like any other career - you must invest both time and money to advance in your chosen field. You can get started in music for less than you would have thought necessary.
The single most important piece of advice I can give you is not to spend any money you can not afford to lose. As in other business ventures - there is no guarantee of success!
My experience is with country & Christian music, so my comments are directed at those wishing to record in Nashville. Many of the same things will apply in other recording centers. In Nashville, you will find honest and dishonest business people. Even though it may seem that there are more of the latter, it is not true. They seem to prey on newcomers and have developed programs to suit their purposes. You will find many, many honest independent producers in Nashville. However, even an honest producer can not guarantee you will be successful.
The majority of singers wanting a career in country music believe they can record one song and be "discovered" by the Major Record Labels in Nashville. I'm afraid not! If you can sing - you can develope a career in country music. I did not say - sign a major record deal! I said develop a career!
By this I mean, you can sing in public and be paid for it. You can record in Nashville and hear your songs on the radio. You can sell your tapes and cds at your performances to increase your earnings from music. (Major label artist earn a large percentage of their income from concert concession sales.) In other words, if you would like to be a successful entertainer, be paid for singing, record and sell your tapes and cds - You can do it! If your goal is only to become a major label recording artist - the odds are against you.
Granted, the major labels are always looking for new talent. They prefer an experienced performer, with a proven track record as an entertainer, with a fan club base.
